Project Description

The project will convert the existing signalized intersection to a signalized restricted crossing u-turn intersection. The project will improve safety by eliminating crossover traffic and will reduce congestion on US 29 by allowing free-flowing traffic at the intersection.

– Concerns of long delays/additional time needed for vehicles coming and going from Frays Mill or Burnley Station
– Concerns that vehicles will need to travel to Greene County to make the u-turn movement
– Concerns that US 29 traffic is being favored over local Albemarle County Traffic
